38. Feb 20, 2020. #1. Hi Guys. re: 2006 x244 Fiat Ducato 2.8 JTD not starting. Actually engine fires then cuts out. I am a newbie to FIAT Ducato. Had to replace a cvjoint and my VAN was sitting for 2 months due to part issues. Anyway, got van back together and no longer starts!
Stanner. They are completely different engines the 2.0/2.2 is the Peugeot/Citroen Hdi (PSA EW/DW) engine even if it is in a Fiat and badged as a JTD. It is the same as fitted to Fiat Ullysee/Citroen C8/Peugeot 807 MPV and the respective Scudo/Dispatch/Expert vans. The 2.3/2.8 is a Fiat commercial engine (actually an Iveco unit).
